Black women are the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs, but unfortunately, we face obstacles in every direction as we attempt to scale our businesses, build capital and create sustaining partnerships.
That is why NAACP created HER Idea. The goal of HER Idea is to bridge this resource gap for Black women through community building. What started as a workshop at the 2018 National Convention has grown into a podcast and now the launch of the HER Idea HBCU Tour. The first stop will be at Benedict College in South Carolina, October 22-24th. Join them as they highlight Black female startup founders, discuss how students can go from side hustle to scalable business, and build community with other empowering women.
During this summit, attendees will hear from millennial entrepreneurs, digital media experts, and venture capitalists about their pathways to success. Attendees will be organized into groups based on the ticket track they choose. Tracks: STEM, Beauty, Wellness, Soulpreneur (Creatives, Social Media, Lifestyle brand). Attendees will have breakout sessions based on their tracks, networking opportunities, and be invited to participate in a pitch competition.
