NAACP’s General Counsel Brad Berry to Discuss Combating the Administration’s Assault on Education and NAACP Lawsuit Against Betsy DeVos During Congressional Black Caucus Education Event
Washington, D.C. —In June, the NAACP filed a lawsuit against Betsy DeVos and the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) for abandoning without public notice its obligation to enforce civil rights. NAACP General Counsel Brad Berry will discuss this case and the NAACP’s resistance to the Trump Administrations attacks on public education during the 48th Annual Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference. The Reclaiming Our Civil Rights: Combating the Administration’s Assault on Education Braintrust will focus on the erosion of civil rights protections in education, and the push for policies that do not just reinforce previous guidance but actually advance educational opportunities for all students.
