Baltimore, MD —The NAACP today condemned the violent and hateful actions of a Florida man, Ronald Morris Wadford who stalked and threatened to lynch the NAACP Alachua, Florida County President.
“During a time when we have White Nationalists rallying around our nation, and a White House and Justice Department which condones racism in both action, words and policy, it’s important that we take all threats of violence to our organization and community seriously,” said Leon W. Russell, NAACP Board Chairman.”
According to a news report in The Hill, “Wadford, whom the (Gainesville) Sun identified as homeless, allegedly called NAACP President Evelyn Foxx six times in November 2016 to threaten her, according to a Gainesville Police Department complaint filed on Dec. 30, 2016.”
Wadford, who allegedly said he was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, was arrested on hate crime charges by the Gainesville Police Department yesterday.
