BALTIMORE (January 22, 2019) – On Saturday, January 19 the NAACP Youth and College Division proudly participated in the Women’s March in Washington, D.C. to uplift the voices of all black women. Dozens of NAACP members from Hampton University, Norfolk State University, Morgan State University, Old Dominion University and more bussed into Washington, D.C. to join together and ensure that the black woman’s agenda was included on the agenda for women’s rights.
Spelman NAACP Chapter President, Amari Fennoy, spoke at the Rally following the march alongside D.C. Branch Vice President Rev. Dr. Charlette Stokes Manning. Dr. Manning introduced Fennoy who highlighted ways we can implement real change in each other lives and ways to protect and fight for all women. The NAACP is very proud of our youth and college members for traveling far and wide to take a stance and make their presence known at the Women’s March this year. Like Fennoy said in her moving speech, “In order to move forward, we have to show some actions.”
