A Mississippi federal judge halted the state’s controversial anti-abortion ruling, calling the ban unconstitutional. CBS News reports U.S. Judge Carlton Reeves criticized the law for “preventing a woman’s free choice, which is central to personal dignity and autonomy.” In a ruling issued on Friday, Reeves struck down the latest ban because the law does not take into account how women’s bodies work.
The Crisis: Justice for Danye
Oct. 17, 2018, began like any other pre-dawn Thursday morning, except that the light in Danye Jones’ basement bedroom was still on when his stepfather, Derek Chatman, entered the North St. Louis County home after his overnight shift.
