As you may know, the NAACP was founded in 1909 in response to the ongoing violence against Black people around the country and is the largest and pre-eminent civil rights organization in the nation. There are over 2,200 units and branches across the nation, along with well over 2M activists. The NAACP’s mission is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and
ensure the health and well-being of all persons. We are pleased to share some of the NAACP’s 2020 accomplishments:
 NAACP Civic Engagement Program increased the voter turnout with 16.5M texts sent, 675K calls, 4.5M
pieces of mail sent, 400K emails sent, 18M+ impressions on Facebook & YouTube, and radio and TV ads
 NAACP sued President Trump for systematically trying to disenfranchise Black voters and sued the
Postmaster General to restore reliable mail delivery service ahead of November elections
 NAACP urged new cabinet level position for the Biden-Harris administration, National Advisor on Racial
Justice, Equity and Advancement
 NAACP and Experian launched Home Preservation Grant to Support African American homeowners at
risk of losing their homes
 NAACP blasted authorities on lack of response in untimely death of Quawan “Bobby” Charles
 NAACP and CBS partnered to create content for broadcast, cable and streaming
 NAACP held series of town halls to address Covid-19 and police brutality
 NAACP partnered with Beyonce’s BeyGood Foundation to lend support to Black businesses affected by the riots after the police murder of George Floyd
Your membership in the NAACP will allow our historic organization to continue the fight to ensure an equal, just society. With your Bishop William D.
